It’s hardest to belong when you’re closest to home… One wet Friday evening, Professor Andrew Martin of Cambridge University solves the world’s greatest mathematical riddle. Then he disappears. When he is found walking naked along the motorway, Professor Martin seems different. Besides the lack of clothes, he now finds normal life pointless. His loving wife and teenage son seem repulsive to him. In fact, he hates everyone on the planet. Everyone, that is, except Newton. And he’s a dog. Can a bit of Debussy and Emily Dickinson keep him from murder? Can the species which invented cheap white wine and peanut butter sandwiches be all that bad? And what is the warm feeling he gets when he looks into his wife’s eyes?

I know that some of you reading this are convinced humans are a myth, but I am here to state that they do actually exist. For those that don’t know, a human is a real bipedal lifeform of mid-range intelligence, living a largely deluded existence on a small waterlogged planet in a very lonely corner of the universe.
For the rest of you, and those who sent me, humans are in many respects exactly as strange as you would expect them to be. Certainly it is true that on first sighting you would be appalled by their physical appearance.

I have had "The gigantic beard that was evil" by Stephen Collins in my shelves for quite some time, and finally decided to read it. It's a quirky story about a neat and tidy guy living in a neat and tidy place. Life is perfectly predictable until his beard starts growing. And growing. And growing... I quite liked it - not a new fave of mine, but an enjoyable read nonetheless.

Sorry I have sort of abandoned this account recently, I have been posting on @saga_in_oslo. If you like dogs, you might want to follow my quirky husky-staffy-mix. If not, you better just stay here. ❤

His gallows humour and self-depreciation appeals to me. 😋😅 I've laughed until I've cried at some of his content. In a good way.

It's a stylistically simple series for children, and where in the previous two books a bear and a fish have to deal with hat-problems, this time two turtles find one. They decide to put it back where they found it, because there's just one hat, and two turtles. But one of the turtles can't quite stop thinking about the hat... Where the previous two sports some dark humour, this one is surprisingly sweet. I like the simple and clean art work - this one is just as enjoyable as the previous books! 🙂
