Under the streets of London there’s a world most people could never even dream of. A city of monsters and saints, murderers and angels, knights in armour and pale girls in black velvet. This is the city of the people who have fallen between the cracks.
Richard Mayhew, a young businessman, is going to find out more than enough about this other London. A single act of kindness catapults him out of his workday existence and into a world that is at once eerily familiar and utterly bizarre. And a strange destiny awaits him down here, beneath his native city: neverwhere.

Five almost identically dressed, extremely pale young women walked past him. They wore long dresses made of velvet, each dress so dark it was almost black – respectively dark green, dark chocolate, royal blue, dark red, and pure black. Each woman had black hair, and wore silver jewellery; each was perfectly coiffed, perfectly made up. They moved silently: Richard was aware only of a swish of heavy velvet as they went past, a swish that sounded almost like a sigh. The last of the women, the one dressed all in utter black, the palest and the most beautiful, smiled at Richard. He smiled back at her, warily.

Takk for smakebiten.

Hi guys! I’ve been quiet for a while, partially because I'm doing #NaNoWriMo again this year. Apparently didn't learn my lesson last year! 😂

If you don't know what that is, long story short: you write a 50000 word novel in a month, which means on average 1667 words every day. Sometimes when I tell people this, they frown and wonder what the point of that is. There’s no way you can write anything ready to send off to a publisher in a month. And yes, I agree. But that's not the point. For me, it's an excersise in not nitpicking and criticising everything I write. Simply because I don't have time. And it feels pretty good to just let my creativity loose like that!

Don't get me wrong though. It's difficult. But I'm on schedule and hope to make it to the finish line in time.

The book in the picture is by the founder of Nanowrimo, #chrisbaty.

Currently reading The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon.

Salinger. Now is a good a time as any. From what I understand, people either love or hate the protagonist. Have you read it? What do you think?

It's a quirky story about a neat and tidy guy living in a neat and tidy place. Life is perfectly predictable until his beard starts growing. And growing. And growing... I quite liked it - not a new fave of mine, but an enjoyable read nonetheless.
